BEGINNER (IPE Levels 5 & 4)

These classes give the first-time student of Japanese a solid grounding in all four language skills...

...through 23 comprehensive lessons.

Packed with easy-to-understand grammar explanations, a variety of exercises (complete with illustartions), and scenes taken from everyday life, these lessons will have you enjoying Japanese in no time!

We aim to take the stress out of those often tedious beginning stages of language learning to help you more wuickly acquire well-balanced communicative proficiency in Japanese.

INTERMEDIATE (IPE Level 3)

To move beyond the beginner's level of Japanese, it is necessary to master ...

...a decent level of vocabulary, kanji and daily expressions, as well as...

...grammatical structures and communication strategies, and of course...

...you need to practice all of these in a relevant context.

This can only be achieved through a systematic approach that builds on each aspect of the language in a natural way and ultimately associates each aspect to the language as a whole.

The text Intermediate Japanese has been designed to meet this needs. The scope and succession of the lesson content enables learners of Japanese to effectively make the jump from beginner to intermediate without overwhelming the student.

ADVANCED (IPE Levels 2 & 1)

By this time, students already have a good working knowledge of Japanese and possess considerable daily-language skills.

As such, the main focus of these classes is on preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

At these levels, you will continue to increase your vocabulary with the focus moving toward learning the "kanji" required in order to pass the test or to read a Japanese newspaper (which comes in pretty handy in your daily life too !)

In addition, you will continue to learn more complex grammer and advanced daily expressions.

All this and we still manage to make the classes fun!
